John Chow
Again, this one is a day behind. Yes, I’m getting busy in my offline life. That’s why we have weekends, to make up for the fun stuff we miss out on during the week.
I would like to review John Chow’s site, in the context of finding peace.
Previously, John had asked for people to review his site, honestly, and is offering to link back to those people who tell him about the reviews. That certainly is a generous offer, considering that his site is one of the more ‘authoritative’ sites out there in terms of Google’s search algorithms and Technorati rank. A link from him will instantly reflect as an ego boost on the author, and will drive a small flow of visitors to their site.
So, who is John Chow? He is a man who lives up in Canada who doesn’t put “eh?” at the end of every sentence. He created the site, The Tech Zone, and uses his blog to discuss topics that interest him, as well as an experiment in monetizing blogs. He also has guest bloggers from time to time, and a regular assistant, Michael Kwan, who helps to review other blogs and products.
So, what interest would someone have in his blog as they’re pursuing peace? Well, about as much interest as lobsters have in watching their own tails be eaten. (Remember, pursuing peace is futile.) Alright, let me rephrase that… What interest would someone have in his blog if they’re working on increasing the peace that they already have? It largely depends on their area of interests. John writes on such varied topics as increasing your blog’s revenue, fine dining establishments, other blogs, and tech toys that get shipped to him for review.
John labels himself as evil, but don’t let that fool you. After all, evil is only a perception, a handy label that people use to describe what they see as unnecessary suffering. Is John causing anyone any suffering? Well, Jennifer Lynn is probably dieing of embarrassment from a product review that John hinted she’d be perfect for, but far fewer people are hurt by his words than are helped, so despite his own self image, John is definitely a power for good.
One final word of caution: Do not read his blog on an empty or weak stomach.
